Kim's romance with directing and fashion began at an early age as she wrote and acted in plays. In doing so she created entire make believe worlds.
Myers work is known for its inquisitive eye and cinematic approach. Her discerning point of view has captured the attention of the world’s best-known publications – including Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour, and leading brands like Moët, CoverGirl and Clinique. Myers has expanded into directing, crafting video projects with high-end brands such as Clinique, New Beauty, Nest and The Gap.
Myers’ romance with fashion and directing began early. As a child, she wrote, acted – and styled – original plays in which she’d create entire make-believe worlds. Her childhood was coloured by a combination of the expansive, All-American optimism of the Midwest with the cosmopolitan eclecticism of Amsterdam. These divergent cultures informed the refined authenticity and literate storytelling that is characteristic of her work.
Myers followed her love of fashion to Paris where at age 18, she studied at the Paris Fashion Institute. She then returned to New York to intern for legendary photographer Francesco Scavullo while continuing her education at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Parsons School of Design and School of Visual Design.
She began her professional career as part of the creative team to launch MAC Cosmetics in North America where she also helped create the ground-breaking “MAC VIVA GLAM” campaign which generated $450 million for AIDS research. She later moved to the editorial side for magazines, where an editor saw some of her pictures and hired her for her first shoot. From that point on, she’s followed her calling and camera all over the world to tell her stories through her unique lens.
